Brinjal Bonda ~ Bonda Masala





Brinjal Bonda
Delicious evening snack

              Makes :  10-12 bondas                         
             
         Ingredients:

200g : Besan Flour
1tbsp: Rice Flour
A big pinch: Soda-bicarb
            10 num: Baby brinjals
 2 tsp : Red Chilli powder
  1 tsp: Garam Masala
    1tsp: Chaat Masala
     Salt
    Oil for deep frying


Method :
1.          Wash and clean brinjals. Wipe them clean.  
2.          Mix chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala and salt.
3.         Slit the brinjal from tail end. Make a cross slit and fill in the above masala. Let brinjals sit with masala for 15-20 mins.  
4.         Meanwhile, mix besan flour, rice flour, salt, soda-bicarb. Add water and make a thick batter.  
5.         Heat oil on medium heat. Dip brinjals in the besan batter and deep fry till they turn golden brown.   
6.         Serve with pudina chutney and tamarind chutney topped with chopped onions and coriander.

ide tharada capsicum bonda thindidde, but eggplant?! Very new to me LG. Do the eggplant get cooked so fast?

Sushma, Yes adikke baby brinjals buy maadi. Lil cute brinjals are easy to cook and when you cook on slow-medium heat they get cooked very well.

They look absolutely yum. I used to live in Davanagere and used to love bondas and bhajjis. Never heard of brinjal bonda though. Will give it a try.
