Mmm, those dosas look really thin and crispy. I make an instant dosa with rice flour and yoghurt. It's very different - much softer and thicker - but it's still good. You can see pictures here: http://mangosoup.blogspot.com/2009/08/coconut-and-rice-flour-dosas.html

Must thank you for this dish. I was too lazy to do any cooking, and I suddenly remembered this dosa, and decided to try this. We had MTR chutney powder at home ...and so within 15 minutes yummy yummy thili dosa was ready! :-)) I was just thinking how easy life is with non stick pans. I cant imagine making this on an iron tava -- but I suppose thats how they used to malke it earlier!

'Thili' in kannada means a clear layer of liquid. Probably this dose is named so not because of it's meaning. Theluvu dose has transformed itself to Thili dose. Theluvu in kannada means thin which fits well :D . We always say it as thili dose rather than theluvu dose ahahhaa...but thanks for asking this question.
